Templates for documents
Lot of time users need to create document of some established type. For example a secretary spent most time dealing with bills or orders instead a manager deals with contracts or other. It will be a good idea to insert a new feature in docmgr that allow to create document only inserting text in an appropriate form. DocMgr would have the rule to create the real document by merging the text inserted with an established pdf/jpg background image. System administrator would have the possibility to choose the template, select where the text can be inserted and will appear on the pdf file. Both in the front-end and back-end. Also, for the same reason, users need to search for specific type of documents (with the some template), using the information inserted in the form. I mean that every field of the form must be indexed and can be used to formulate query search.
Example: 1. insert new curriculum 2. name: MyName 3. surname: MySurname 4. age: 28
... after ...
Search among the templates/labels "curriculum", where age field = "28" (selecting age from a menù) It'll be great if I can assign two or more labels to each document (like gmail labels) and this will give me the possibility to display bills of in 2005 (but also searching in the field "year") and/or for ACME Inc.
Recycle bin
Do you think any benefit would arise from creating a "recycle bin" style collection in which only administrators have access? All documetns which were "deleted" would infact be moved to the "recycled-bin collection" for administrator review prior to actual deletion from the system. It could also serve as an accidental deletion safe guard.
Email collection or a selection of files as zip
Hello. DocMGR is a great program.. but i am missing one feature. email collection and a selection of files. is it possible to make this?
Html preview of documents
HTML preview of Word docs (without first downloadind the doc, open in Word/OpenOffice; display a html-version in the browser). The same goes for: html preview of pdf, jpg, etc.
Completed WebDAV support
WebDAV was completely rewritten using the Pear WebDAV implementation. It still needs some work before it can be considered complete. We've come a long way since 0.49 as far as client support goes. But, we now need to be able to lock files for editing.
Category Tree
Currently, we have the ability for collections to have multiple parents. However, we can't implement this because I can't get the tree to work properly if a collection has two parents. This either needs to be made to work, or a complete tree redesign needs to happen. I'm open to suggestions.
Email to DocMGR
We should be able to email files into a public folder in the system. Maybe even allow specific routing by email address.
Direct scanning through an HTML interface
Let user mark certain areas (keyword) on a page an have docmgr route the doc to the appropriate location
